The underlying Philosophy for the Department of Agricultural Economics andExtension is in keeping with the underlying principles of the NUC. The departmentas an integral part of the faculty of Agriculture and sources management whoseaim is in training young people in various areas of agriculture to acquire broadknowledge, competences and highly skilled in areas necessary to offer expertiseadvice and solution that will accelerate the improvement of food production and itsvalue-chains through effective policy making, research design and extensionlinkages in both public and private sectors of Nigeria.
